Lifetime Warranty

Lifetime Warranty

The Denny’s Auto Lifetime Warranty is for parts and labor.  The warranty DOES NOT cover normal wear of wearable items, such as, but not limited to; brake pads, brake rotors/drums, clutches, tires, or rubber components.  The Denny’s Auto Lifetime warranty covers your investment due to defective parts, incorrect installation, or premature wear.  If the vehicle is used for off-road travel, racing, competition purposes, or has signs of abuse or negligence then the warranty is void.  All warranty work must be performed at a Denny’s Auto location.  All installed parts will be new, unless otherwise specified, used parts will affect the warranty.  For the warranty to remain in effect, you MUST bring the vehicle back at least twice per year or every 5,000 miles for a complimentary warranty inspection of the work that was completed.  Vehicle must be properly maintained to Denny’s Auto maintenance standards of the system that was repaired, or warranty is void.  This warranty inspection is complimentary and is no charge to you.  Maintenance services required to maintain the warranty are not subject to the vehicle warranty.  If you fail to bring your vehicle back for a complimentary inspection and/or fail to perform preventative maintenance, the vehicle is covered under a 2 year/24,000-mile warranty. GENERAL LIFE EXPENTENCY OF PARTS: Rubber components (excluding tires) 7 years, or 105,000 miles, Rotating parts (starters, alternators, pumps, solenoids, etc) – 7 years, 105,000 miles, Ball sockets/joints – 7 years, 105,000 miles.

What does ‘Lifetime’ mean?

Life expectancy of parts in general: Rubber 7 years or 105,000 miles, Tires see Denny’s Auto tire protection plan, rotating parts (starters, alternators, pumps, etc.) – 7 years, Ball sockets/joints – 7 years.

Brake pads will not be warrantied due to normal wear, only part defect or installation error.

Brake rotors/drums will only be warrantied if the vehicle’s steering, suspension, wheel balance, and brake fluid exchanges are done regularly.  Brake rotors/drums will not be warrantied if they are warped from driving styles or worn steering and suspension parts.

Why do customers need to come back twice per year?

Imagine we installed a $1,200 alternator and the customer is told it has a lifetime warranty.  The customer comes back 4 years later, and the alternator has failed again.  But the reason the alternator failed is due to the valve cover gasket leaking oil onto the alternator.  The alternator’s life expectancy was cut short due to it being covered in oil.  This could have been caught during a warranty check.  We WILL do our best to make sure customers come in within their warranty check time frame to insure this does not happen and turn into something nasty.

Maintenance Requirements:

The vehicle must have a maintenance service attached to the repair for the warranty to be valid.  Example would be a power steering pressure line replacement NEEDS to have a power steering flush attached to the job.  For the warranty to last the life of the part the related flush/maintenance service needs to be done according to Denny’s Auto recommended service intervals moving forward.

If we do front brakes on a vehicle with 130,000 miles and the struts are original, we cannot warranty the brakes because the vehicle has the original struts on it.  The original struts will accelerate the wear on the brake pads.

Customers DO NOT have to have their maintenance services done with us after the initial repair, but they do need proof that the maintenance services have been performed by a professional shop at our service intervals.

We would need to add additional information on the labor lines (ex. Front Brakes and Rotors Remove & Replace – Brake Flush required every 30,000 miles for warranty purposes)
