Denny's treated me right! My van had a number of items that needed to be fixed and I left it with them on Thursday and Friday. I wanted it back so I could use it that weekend. One problem was sluggish starting, which they diagnosed to be the battery. I chose to replace it on my own while they were fixing the other things. After installing a new battery, it still wouldn't start. It was closing time hours on Friday and there wasn't enough time to fix it so they kept it over the weekend. On Monday they diagnosed a starter problem and replaced it for free because they wanted to make up for me not being able to have my van over the weekend. This was totally unexpected, but made me feel like they were conscious of my time and appreciated me as a customer.

We always recheck a starting/charging system after a bad battery has been replaced. It is not unusual for a bad battery to affect other components of the starting system.
